Abstract

Vapour absorption refrigeration system is a well-known technology for utilizing renewable or waste energy to produce cooling effect. Ammonia-water is considered as refrigerant and absorbent working pair in absorption refrigeration system. A milk chilling unit working Vapour absorption principle for create cooling effect to maintain freshness and healthiness of milk. The present research work gives the thermodynamic analysis of the milk chilling unit by varying the operating parameters like boiler temperature, condenser temperature, evaporator temperature and reactor temperature. Calculating parameter for the performance of milk chilling unit are heat transfer rate on each component like boiler, condenser, evaporator, reactor and COP (coefficient of performance) of the cooling unit with the variation of operating parameter.
