Abstract
In Vapor compression based refrigeration systems amount of heat dissipated through condenser is vital since it affects the overall performance of the system. In the recent years Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has been widely used as a method of simulating room airflow, studying indoor environment issues and to produce data that may be otherwise difficult to obtain through insitu measurements. These analysis in an enclosed measurement generally give realistic information concerning the air distribution and air flow parameters in the system. A Portable Air-Conditioner is equipment which is used on go for the domestic air conditioning. In the present analysis finned tube condenser is used with the R-22 as refrigerant. The air flow pattern is evaluated by performing computational fluid dynamics simulation for condenser chamber. These are simulated by developing a CAD model of the system, Temperature distributions, heat flux, pressure distributions & flow pattern simulation in computational fluid dynamics software. Ansys workbench was used for pre/post processing and fluent is used for solving. Keywords
