Abstract

In the Indian railway system, to change the platform every individual is supposed to use the cross over bridge or stairs. It becomes an issue for physically challenged and senior citizens. To overcome this problem a new prototype is defined which acts a virtual platform i.e., a connecting bridge is placed between the platforms which are moveable with respect to the train arrival and departure near to the platform. To share the information regarding the status of our virtual platform, a website is designed which shares the information regarding the status of it. As IOT is the best approach to solve this problem, we use IOT as a platform with some hardware like Infrared sensors to detect the arrival and departure of the train, motor to adjust the position of the virtual platform accordingly, power supply etc.
