Abstract

In this study, two different rake and relief angles was used to understand the deformation and stresses in the tool bit. Simulation was carried out with two and four flutes on the end mill to optimize the tool geometry. The chip removing process is carried on tungsten carbide flat plate. The static Finite Element Analysis is carried out to understand the cutting conditions under the defined boundary conditions and process parameters. The simulations study shows the least stresses distribution with cutting angle of -2º and relief angles of 6º with a small burr in the work.
